Connecting JV Manager 2 Fantasos with Joomla
In version 1.6 of Fantasos, John Delavera has introduced a
new feature (actually more than one), which will automatically create an
account in one of four different Forum Systems.
- vBulletin
- SMF
- phpBB
- Invision
Power Board
This now means that Joomla can easily be integrated by using
a bridge plugin for Joomla
I have tested this with two of the four systems above and as
a vBulletin owner, have decided to implement the bridge with vBulletin.
In addition, as I have more than one installation of Joomla,
I have added another plugin which will then replicate the user credentials to
all of my Joomla sites.
Although Joomla is a GNU product, the plugins I am using are
not and come at an extra charge.
All of the above is made possible by connecting directly
with the Forum mySQL database and checking for the existence of a user account
created automatically by Fantasos.
At the time of writing this, a fellow Joomla owner and
developer is also working on a subscription based account creation system to
more tightly integrate the signup and recurring subscription service by
connecting directly with Fantasos.
